Two moms with an adorable child and one on the way share tips to prepare for a newborn.
1. What advice would you give to a couple thinking about starting a family?
The best advice I could give is to be open minded and compromising. There are so many learning curves when starting a family and adapting to the change of being more than a couple is a big adjustment.
2. How can a couple best prepare for their newborn?
Besides owning every baby contraption on the market these days, the best way you could prepare would probably be by getting real life experiences with friend’s kids. However, in my opinion nothing really prepares you for motherhood like experiencing it. It’s the hardest and best thing I’ve ever done but I have been learning and winging it since the day my son was born.
3. Do you have any tips you can offer new parents for after the baby arrives?
Accept ALL the help. Seriously. If people are offering help, take it! Also- if having visitors seems like a lot or people are making it harder for you in the first few days, don’t be afraid to say no visitors or limit visitors to 1 a day.
