Leah and Tori decided on an understated,  modern wedding. For simplicity and ease for their guests they held their ceremony and reception in the same location at NOAH’s Event Venue in Sugar Land, Texas.

The wanted a mix of bold and softness and opted for a navy blue and pink color scheme with hints of gold throughout. Tori found her perfect gown at BHLDN along with a gorgeous beaded belt. She decided to have her hair in an up-do to keep it in place during our warm Texas summer. Her two sisters acted as her maids of honor and wore navy blue dresses while her bridesmaids wore pale pink.

Leah picked out a navy blue suit with a white shirt and pink floral tie all from Banana Republic. She added a classic style tie clip for a little extra detail. Her sister and best friend were the maid and man of honor and wore dark blue. Her bridesmaids wore pale pink and her bridesman wore a blue suit. The guys ties even matched her own!

The ladies did a first look to shake off some of the nerves and have a few minutes alone before the ceremony. We went into a small courtyard to give them some privacy. Leah was wowed by Tori’s dress and how beautiful she looked. They were definitely ready and excited for their ceremony.

The ceremony was held in the ceremony room in front of a sheer drapery backdrop with twinkle back lighting. We had a slightly nervous flower girl so one on the sign carrying boys recessed back down the aisle to help her toss the petals while clung nervously to her escort’s leg.

The ceremony lasted about 15 minutes and culminated in an exchange of rings a few tears and a joyful first kiss as Mrs. and Mrs. We did some additional wedding party and family photos after the ceremony to get some more use out of their pretty ceremony backdrop. One of the images that Tori really wanted to make time for was a photo of her and her wife kissing while each of their sets of parents also kissed, so we made that happen!

Their reception was held in the main hall and featured contemporary Edison bulb ceiling lighting. Their color scheme tied in with dark blue linens and pink accent lighting. Iron lanterns with floral lights made for modern centerpieces with just a little bit of whimsy. Each guest received a personalized cookie with the couple’s names and wedding date. I loved the sign near the bar that read “be aware that photographers will be capturing your drunken moments for all time.”

My favorite moment of the night happened after the cake cutting. As the ladies were cautiously feeding each other a taste of cake, it turned into a cake smash. Neither one walked away without a face full of frosting and they were both laughing uncontrollably. Their guests loved it!

To close out the night the wedding party and remaining guests sent the girls off to their honeymoon with a sparkler exit.
