This gorgeous lake wedding is full of fun and laughter. Don’t we all wish we could end a wedding by jumping in a lake? From the couple: Ben and I met through a mutual friend on Facebook. After a few days of chatting online, we started talking on the phone. I felt those high-school butterflies as our phone conversations lasted into the early hours of the morning. We were both exhausted the days following these long talks, but it was the good kind of exhausted where you know that a special/perfect storm could be brewing. Two years later (after asking his son’s permission), I proposed to Ben on top of a cliff on the Oregon Coast. You learn a lot about each other being engaged, such as how stubborn and hard-headed you can both be while doing the wedding planning! After much debate, we agreed to get married on Phillip’s Lake at my family’s cabin on the Olympic Peninsula. Instead of having a giant, grand wedding, we knew we wanted it to be a big celebration with good food, music, liquor and friends. When we pull out our wedding album and relive the moments of our special day, we are so thankful that our friends, family and nature all came together to give us a day that neither of us will ever forget.
