Kayla and I met under extremely random circumstances. I was working a marketing job at a local gas station, and Kayla just happened to stop at the ATM inside during my shift. She had to come inside the gas station 3 times before she worked up the courage to ask for my number! Later, we found out that we both thought the other was way out of our league! The next night, we had our first date and totally hit it off. I think we only spent 5 nights away from each other before moving in together 6 months later!

When asked what makes them the perfect couple, Jade says, “I believe that we’re soulmates for a lot of reasons, but we work well together because we communicate and listen to one another. We understand each other in a way that is unique and unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before. We enjoy the same things, but also are different in enough ways to where one of us is always learning something new!”

Jade and Kayla’s engagement session took place at Smithgall Woods, a park in the north Georgia mountains. After the two hiked up the trail together, they pulled over to the side so that Jade could play her ukulele and sing a song to Jade Then Kayla carried Jade on her back for a while.

Right from the start, we created a loving family with Kayla’s twin daughters. I loved Kayla’s daughters as if they were my own (which now they are!), and they loved me the same. I have loved every minute of watching them grow from the toddlers I first met, to the beautiful, young women they are today. Every step of the way, I knew that Kayla and I were meant to be.

Despite the struggles, we always have each other’s back. We understand each other on a level that I have never and will never experience this kind of love with anyone else. Everything we accomplish or choose to do is as a team, and there is no other person I would rather team up with than Kayla.

Our wedding (October 2, 2021) was just the beginning of our very long and fruitful journey. By next summer, I will hopefully be carrying our third child. We will both be finishing up our college degrees and exploring newer and more lucrative career paths. We will still be pushing, motivating and carrying one another forward — no matter what this crazy world throws at us.
