It did not take long for Meghan and Katie to realize they were right for each other. Their friends say as soon as they met they were inseparable and couldn’t quit talking about the other. They decided to get married on Meghan’s family property in Colorado so they could be surrounded by the landscape and the animals that they love.
Meghan planned it so they could have 2-week old baby goats as their ring bearers, and their colorful bridal party was a fitting rainbow of colors. The aisle was made around the pond on the property, and two brides were hand-fast using a rope braided from fur of the alpacas living there. The wedding was as DIY as could be, with Meghan’s mother sewing the bohemian style dress, and her family picking wildflowers for the floral arrangements. Meghan and Katie picked the date of the summer solstice for their celebration, and they promised to be each other’s wives forever as rain began to fall. The storm rolled in, but it didn’t stop the two beautiful brides from celebrating the start of their married life.
